Clann na nGael

Player of the Year - 2000

In a disappointing year for our senior team, this player gave sterling performances throughout the season. Having come through the ranks of the minor board where he won his first county medal at Under-12, he was also a member of an all-conquering Ardkeenan National School team and continued his winning ways with Under-16, Minor and Under-21 medals with the club.

He joined the senior panel in 1994/95 and won two County Senior medals in 1995, 1996. But when the chips were down this year he showed that he has what it takes to show leadership in the coming years. A totally dedicated club player and a thorough gentleman both on and off the field, he is a shining example to all young players. His commitment was further rewarded this year when he made his full County Senior debut against Tyrone in Hyde Park in the National League, having come on as a substitute against Louth two weeks previously.

This year's worthy recipient of the Senior Player of the Year is,

David Kelly
