Clann na nGael

Player of the Year - 2001

This year's Player of the year has played with all underage teams for Clann na nGael from under 10 up to minor and was a consistent force on all teams.

He played his first game for the Senior team earlier this year against Roscommon Gaels in the league. He made his championship debut against Castlerea, where his tackling and fielding was outstanding. He has featured in all senior games since then and has laid claim to his wing half back position.

He is an example to all other players, not just on match day, but all through the year with his attitude to training. He is always one of the first on the training field and always gives one hundred per cent.

If this player continues to improve as he has in 2001, I am sure there are greater and bigger awards to come for him in the years ahead.

For his commitment and dedication at all times, the Clann na nGael Player of the Year Award for 2001 goes to:

Brian Goode
