Clann na nGael

Young Player of the Year - 2001

This year's young player of the year has represented Clann na nGael at all age groups from under 10 to Minor.

His lightening runs and rocket like shots on goal earned him early recognition as a rising star. From his early days playing with Cornafulla primary school he has always been a player to watch. He won three school’s championships with Cornafulla.

He was the star of the under 14 team to win championship and Féile na nÓg honours in 1998. In the year 2000 he was again to the fore in helping his team win the under 16 championship. He has represented Roscommon at under 14 and under 16, and will most likely figure on this year's minor team also.

In the Spring of this year he was selected to play on a Connaught Schools selection in Australia where he played a leading role for his team.

Despite his success at soccer where he earned his first international cap for Ireland at under 14, he has never forsaken Clann and always put in a huge effort for the club.

Ever present at training, his dedication to fitness is an example to all others around him. The Clann na nGael Young Player of the Year Award for 2001 goes to:
