 Ladies Player of the Year - 2005

 

The 2005 Clann na nGael Ladies Player of the Year has given many years of exceptional service to both Club and county. During this time she has won numerous medals and trophies at all grades.

This high fielding Madonna, had made midfield her own in countless Club matches, snatching balls from the sky and driving forward in her own distinctive fashion, launching attack after attack. Her exceptional ball-winning ability and control, has never failed her, and her support for teammates on the ball is second to none.

With the Club she has won 2 Minor County Championships (‘95, ‘96), 4 Senior County Championships (’95, ’96, ’97, 2002), 1 Connacht Senior Club Championship (‘95) and 1 Connacht Intermediate Club Championship (2002).

With Roscommon, she won an All-Ireland Junior Title in 2001, and in 2005 the highlight of her county career to date was the winning of All-Ireland Intermediate Title.

She also won the O’Connor Cup with Sligo IT in 2000 and was awarded ‘Player of the Tournament’ for that competition.

She also was awarded many other Player of the Match Awards in key matches including:- ‘TG4 Connacht Junior Final 2001 Player of the Match’, ‘AIB All-Ireland Intermediate Club Final 2002 Player of the Match’ and ‘TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate Quarter Final 2005 Player of the Match’. Following her brilliant display throughout 2005, she was awarded the ‘Roscommon Supporters Club Dublin 2005 Player of the Year’.

In recent years, despite a hectic county and personal schedule, she has given of herself unselfishly to the Club, from coaching to Club administration and currently holds the demanding role of Club Secretary.
