Ladies

Young Player

of the Year

2009

This year’s “Young Ladies Player of the Year” has represented the club at Intermediate and Minor level in the past year. She is blessed with great leadership qualities, has a steely determination and is very competitive. This player has played most of her football in defence where her ability to block ball after ball is eye catching, along with her speed off the mark.

After winning an U-12 title as a 10 year old, she has had many a heartbreak in county finals until 2008 when she played an integral part in the Club winning the U16 Division 1, and Minor B titles. This year she made the step up to adult football and looked completely at home. However it was in the minor championship where she flourished and broke many a full forward’s heart in the process. 2008 also saw this girl overcome a serious setback in health but her positivity in all situations shone through, to allow her return to the football field. She is also an accomplished soccer player with both her school and the Bealnamulla Club that has seen her win several titles including All-Irelands.

With lots of competition for this award in 2009, it is her will to win, her dedication to training, and some great performances which ensures the recipient of the Clann na nGael “Young Ladies Player of the Year” award for 2009 is
