Player of the Year 2009 |
The 2009 Player of the Year began his successful and varied career in the late 1980’s with the club.
On the playing field he has won an U-12 medal in 1988, an U-13 Community Games Medal in 1989, U-14 and U-16 medals in 1991 and a Minor Medal in 1995.
His
display at midfield in the replayed U-14 County Final of 1991 played no small
part in Clann winning its first U-14 county title for
11 years at the time. He was also on the two Féile na nÓg
teams of 1990 and 1991 which visited
He
also gave great service to
His first success on the playing field at adult level came in 1997 when he won County U-21, County Junior “A” and a County Junior “B” medals. Since then he has added three further County Junior “B” medals to his collection, in 2003, 2006 and most recently this year, 2009. His displays this year played a big part in Clann winning its fifth county Junior “B” title.
Apart from his playing career with the club he has held the post of PRO and has also managed the club U-14 team in 2009 and will continue in that in that role for 2010. He has also been part of the backroom team with the club senior team for the last number of years.
Away
from sport he has given the best part of 15 years of his time as a volunteer
with the Irish Handicapped Children’s Trust (I.H.C.P.T). This organisation

is a very popular person among his peers in the club. The winner of the Clann
