Clann
claimed their fourth Division 1 title in a row on Wednesday last in Kilbride.
Despite dominating possession from the start with some brilliant approach play,
the girls were wayward in their shooting leaving Boyle still in the game approaching half-time. However a late first half rally left Clann
leading at the break 4-6 to 1-2. In the second-half Clann continued to dominate
despite playing against the breeze and ran out comfortable winners. This was a
great team performance playing some lovely football with excellent support
play. Congratulations to the management of Peter Shine and Cathriona Meehan who
have been involved in all county final victories along with Captain Shauna
Connell who played in her fourth final in a row, a unique achievement. Also
special mention for Yvonne Harney and Shauna Naughton who won their third
football title in six days with Clann, Cornafulla N.S. Drum & Clonown in
the community games. Best wishes to Leanne Ward who missed the final through
injury and let’s hope she makes a quick recovery.
