The Parish Hall
The hall was built in 1952 under the direction of Fr Michael Donnelly. It was and still is the centre for a lot of activity for the local area and the whole community. It has been refurbished and improved many times and is kept in fine condition thanks to a small active local committee and the FAS community employment scheme. It is used frequently for meals after funerals and for other family and community functions. The Hall was host for a few years to a monthly meeting of Monaghan Co Council chaired by local Councillor Willie McKenna, and since then to a meeting of the Border Regional Authority chaired by Brain McKenna. The hall has been the welcoming spot many times over recent years to groups from Canada and P.E.I. in particular.

Irish Dancing Centre
The Mc Quaid School of Dancing use the hall as a centre for a weekly training session for young people in Irish Dancing. The annual ceili group in the county use this venus also in rotation. The local primary school and the other 5 schools in the Aughnacloy/Truagh Schools Programme use this venue regularly for cultural, artistic, musical and educational interaction. Earlier in 2003 the local school presented the musical "Oliver" to appreciative audiences. The children with expert tutoring, rose magnificently to the challenge and developed talents for music, acting and stage management. The beautiful stage backdrop of the Blackwater River at Ravella Bridge painted by the late Carol Beatty of Aughnacloy is an attractive setting for all events in the hall.
Recent Development in I.T. with RoSA and Monaghan Community Network
Against the background of this activity, the Hall Committee developed and fitted out a small office and comfortable work room. Working with RoSA and Monaghan Community Network, they received computers which are used by locals who have reveived training under the cross border partnership for community work and personal advancement in I.T. skills. All involved are deeply grateful for this programme.
