lace making, knitting, cross-stitch, jewellery making, fretwork, calligraphy
etc. See displays of craft work. Try it
out for yourself.
Demonstrations and displays run on
Saturday 20 Aug from 3 – 6pm in the Hayloft Restaurant at the Beaufield Mews,
Woodlands Avenue, Stillorgan.
See displays by the Genealogy Society of
Ireland, Jewish Genealogy Society and One Name Study. The exhibition runs from 6 – 9pm on Wed 24 Aug in the Hayloft
Restaurant at the Beaufield Mews, Woodlands Avenue, Stillorgan.
At 7pm there will be an illustrated talk
on “Family History – Getting Started”.

If you have already done some work on
your family history, come and meet the experts and have your questions
answered.
Let
us make a record of your old photos and memorabilia – by scanning,
photographing or recording your items for future generations. We look forward to meeting you and sharing
your memories of the local area at our drop-in heritage centre beside the Post Office in Stillorgan Shopping Centre. In conjunction with Mount Merrion Historical Society, the heritage
centre will operate on Wed 24 Aug, Thurs 25 Aug and Fri 25 Aug, from 12 to 4pm
each day. See our display of aspects of
old Stillorgan and Mount Merrion 300, including maps, people and places –
images of long ago.
On Sat 27 Aug, join local historian Pat
Sheridan for a stroll through Stillorgan and learn about its past. The walk
will start at Stillorgan Library, St Laurence’s Park at 3pm and will take about
2˝ hours. Due to the popularity of this
event, places are limited and must be booked in advance.
