An office was set up in the Community Centre, with some equipment grant aided by G. R. D., some bought by the Committee, and more loaned by FÁS. This office was the height of activity for the duration of the Scheme. It still serves as a local office, and will be moved to the new Development Centre when built next door.

This undertaking was to prove a huge success, as it did not only produce an excellent History Book but also provided a vast amount of training for all the participants, especially in computer operations. The employees changed every 6 months with most securing employment on leaving the scheme. There were various outings to other groups and places of interest, all which assisted in gathering information. Alot of research was carried out in libraries, and in Maynooth & Dublin.
The final product was a beautiful Parish History Book, which was launched in the Community Centre by Ms. Connie Ní Fhatharta (Cathaoirleach of Galway County Council) on 20th Dec 2000. Various other guests attended the function, Jarlath Feeny (chief executive Galway Chamber of Commerce), Marie Mannion (Heritage Officer Galway County Council), Michael Devaney (Enterprise Ireland, he was also the person who originally promoted the idea of a Heritage Project), Fr. Sean Higgins and Canon Sean Blake, Aileen Heverin (project coordinator), along with members of various groups within the parish. Funding was granted from the Millennium Committee for this Launch, and The Heritage Council assisted with some funds towards the Book publication. This was a great event which had the Centre full to capacity.

Along with producing a History Book, most parish records were put on computer disks for future records and easy access by anybody. These records are now being put on this web site, allowing anybody access around the world.
