Temple Kelly
Not much of the walls of Temple Kelly survive, close to the north east corner of the Cathedral.
This church was possibly errected by Conchobhar Ua Cealligh and Ui Maine, in the place of the Dearthach (wooden oratory) in 1167. Between this church and the cathedral is a bullaun stone , set level with the surface of the ground.
Such stones with rounded depressions in them, are of uncertain use but are commonaly found at early church sites. |
