WALK The Sunday Cloonarkin walk takes
place every Sunday at
6pm assembling at the head of the Cloonarkin road. Please come
along and enjoy this scenic walk and help to protect our

MENTALLY HANDICAPPED ASSOCIATION The
recent 24 hour sponsored fast raised a total of €3,361.30. Cloonfad €703.00, Granlahan
€1,459.50 and Ballinlough €1,198.80. A sincere thank you to all
who donated and collected. The Friends of the Children of
Chernobyl We offer
summer holidays for children from Belarus and Irish families act as
hosts on a voluntary basis.
The principle behind these holidays is that even a short time
spent in a healthy environment will help to boost the immune systems
of the children, which in turn will help to keep their bodies free
of the diseases that threaten them. Thirteen children and their
interpreter are visiting the area at present. Two lovely girls, Maryna
& Alena, are staying with two families in Cloonfad. To extend our sincere
welcome to these visitors a function is being held in Keane’s Lounge
on Friday July 12th @ 9pm. Live music, refreshments
served. Admission is
free. Everyone welcome. Trip
to Galway Seats are still available for
anyone who wishes to take part in the trip to Galway next week. It is not
confined to the Senior Citizens alone so interested persons need to
hand their names in at the Post Office.

REUNION 2002
A reunion for the villages of Ballinross,
Benmore, Culkeen, Mountdelvin, Pollaphuca, Pollinalty, Fiddaun &
Coolisker will take place on Friday 2nd August 2002. Houses in the above areas have received details of the
reunion. The Committee
would like to have an idea of numbers attending in order to plan for
food and refreshments on the night, if you plan to attend can you let a
committee member know. Tickets

Granlahan annual sports takes place on Sunday July 21st
at 2pm. Your support would
be appreciated.
Grant-Aid for the older people
Applications are now being accepted by Social Welfare for
grant-aid towards the cost of installing medical alarms, security
lighting and door locks in the homes of those over 65 years of age.
Anyone with an existing medical alarm that is not working may be
eligible for a new alarm. Contact Alarmcare on 1890926826 for further details.
Those interested must submit their name, date of birth and RSI
number to their local Community Alert Watch Group.

Youth National Retreat:
Youth Festival of Prayer
will take place at Our Lady’s Shrine, Knock on August 8th
to 11th, organised by the Knock Youth Ministry and Youth
2000. It aims to provide
young people with a positive experience of Church and to meet other
