Comment: Hi. Looking at the rest of the site, it's almost a takeover by the Burke family! I am cousin to Sheila Booth and Jerry Ballauer, who is rapidly getting me hooked on my ancestry! Thanks for the site, giving me a look at where it all started for my family. Hope to visit with my wife and kids in the near future.
Cheers for now
Les

Comment: Would like publicly thank Mrs. Bridie Hosty-Felle of Dublin for xeroxing and sending me a copy of the 1998 Cloonfad Magazine. This now completes my Cloonfad Parish Magazine collection.
Bridie is a Cousin of mine and is a daughter of Annie (Nee: Burke) Hosty of Moigh, who's father was Thomas Burke, brother of my mother Mary Ellen Burke.
You have a great editorial and website staff. These magazines have been an asset to my genealogy project.

Comment: My paternal grandfather was born in Milltown, outside of Garranlahan, in 1864. The English-language corruption of his name on his birth cetificate is DROODY. I know the location of the cottage he was raised in with 7 siblings. His birth certificate entry is signed by his (apparently) illiterate mother with an "X ". I have never been able to trace his father, Michael Joseph Droody (Drudy), listed as "Herd. ", i. e., herdsman.

Comment: Can anyone help me wiyh my family history. My Grandfather left Ireland to work in the coal mines in Kiveton,Yorkshire, UK around 1900. One of his brothers - Pat was the family Grocer in Cloonfad. Pat married a Maggie Kilrain and had a child Michael who in turn married a Mary Kate Forkin. Michael was born around 1893. I beleive they had 2 children one who was called Paddy (Patrick). If this rings a bell with anyone I would love to here from them to fill in more pieces of an already large jigsaw.

Comment: I have family still in Ireland, Cloonfad to be exact. My Great Aunt and Uncle, Nell & Vincent Prendergast. I was given this site to view the wonderful article and see their picture celebrating their 60th anniversary. I was part of the large group that attended their 50th anniversary.
What a wonderful time we had. I hope to be back soon. Thank you!

I miss the homeland of my grandparents and plan a summer visit. I hope to one day have a summer home there where the memories are burned into my memory. Thank you for keeping me in touch.
