PRAYER MEETING

CLOONFAD UTD
Premier Division – Sunday Sep 1st. Castlerea Celtic –v- Cloonfad Utd in Celtic Park, Castlerea.  Kick Off 2.30pm.  Division II – Cloonfad Utd ‘B’ –v- Ahascragh Utd in Cloonfad.  Kick Off 2.30pm.
MICHAEL GLAVEY’S
Minor Championship Glaveys –v- Kilglass Gales has been changed from Sunday 1st to Wednesday 4th at 7pm in Ballinlough.  Annual race night will be held on Friday 4th October 2002.
CLOONFAD NATIONAL SCHOOL
The school opens for pupils on Tuesday Sep 3rd.  Staff Meeting on Monday.  We wish pupils and staff an enjoyable and successful school year.
SCHOOL PLAYING FIELD
Thanks to the following who made generous donations to the fund.  Pastoral Council, Michael Glavey’s GAA Club, Cloonfad Handball Club, Cloonfad Tug-O-War Club.  Your generosity to this worthwhile project, which will be a great benefit to the community, is much appreciated.
FAS SCHEME
The community is appreciative of the wonderful work done by the Kiltullagh FAS scheme over the past two years.  Our thanks to the supervisor William Cornwall and the workers who participated at different stages, Eugene Burke, Alo Luby, Christy Kirrane and Seamus Brennan.  Our thanks also to those who served on the organising committee down the years on a voluntary basis.  The Cloonfad members of this committee were Michael Brennan, Brendan Cregg and Martin Regan.
UNDER 10 TRAINING
Soccer Training for U-10 boys & girls Tuesday at 6pm on Cloonfad Pitch.
CLOONFAD SPONSORED WALK
The sponsored walk that took place on June 3rd raised €1574.36 for the Mayo/Roscommon Hospice Foundation.  Sincere thanks to all the organisers, participants and sponsors of the successful event.
UNISLIM
Commencing on Monday 2nd September at 8.30pm in the Hazel Ballyhaunis, and will be held each Monday night thereafter.  Special re-joining for September.
LOUGH DERG

The day care centre re-opens on Wednesday September 12th at 12noon.  All are welcome.

Many thanks to the ‘meitheal’ of workers who turned out during the week to help with the field.  Your help is very much appreciated.

BALLYHAUNIS COMMUNITY SCHOOL REUNION
A school reunion is being planned for the Leaving Cert Class of ’82 and/or the class that was the first group of 1st years to go to Ballyhaunis Community School in 1977, the year the school opened.  The date is December 30th and the venue is the Belmont Hotel, Knock.  Further details contact Noreen Keegan Kavanagh Tel: 045 891930 or email noreen_kavanagh@hotmail.com.  Please pass the message on to family or friends who are living outside the area.
CEMETERY MAINTENANCE
We would like to thank the people from Tonragee and Gurteen for maintaining the upkeep of the cemetery for the month of August.  We would ask the people from Newtown, Curragh, Hundred Acres and Meeltrane to take care of the maintenance for the month of September.  This group are asked to meet on Monday Sep 9th at 7.30pm with the necessary equipment.
CLOONFAD NATIONAL SCHOOL
A meeting of the Board of Management of the school will be held in the community centre meeting room on Wednesday Sep 11 at 9pm.  All members are asked to attend.
COMMUNITY CENTRE
Meetings in the community centre must be booked in advance.  This prevents the position of groups who book the meeting room for a meeting, finding a meeting taking place when they arrive.

RACE NIGHT
Race Night in aid of Cloonfad Christmas Illuminations (Christmas Lighting for the Village) will take place on Friday night September 20th in Keane’s at 9.30pm.  Anyone wishing to support this venture can purchase “Horses” from any of the committee members.
COMMUNITY CENTRE
A representative of each group who uses the centre are invited to a meting in the centre on Tuesday night at 9pm, when the procedure regarding the use of the newly installed alarm system will be explained.

Anyone wishing to have a station mass in their homes during October or November should arrange to do so at your earliest convenience.
COMMUNITY CENTRE
The alarm system is now activated.  Groups who use the centre but who did not attend Tuesday nights meeting must make themselves aware of the alarm procedure before they use the centre.
CIVIC RECEPTION
Cloonfad N.S. boys football team of 2001/2002 are being granted a civic reception by Roscommon County Council in recognition of their historic achievement in winning the All Ireland Schools soccer competition, the first Roscommon or Connaught team to do so, the Cumann Na mbunscoil Roscommon gaelic football title, the Roscommon schools cross country, and two All Ireland boxing medals.  This unique honour will take place on Monday September 23rd in the Arts Centre, Roscommon.

INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTERS COURSE
Candidates wishing to partake in this course should register at FAS Office, Roscommon Tel. 0903 26802.  This course is full-time for 14 weeks.  Paid a FAS training allowance while attending this course, due to start in Ballinlough on 14th October 2002.
REHAB FOUNDATION
Amount collected in recent Rehab church gate collection was €307.  Thanks to all those who subscribed and helped out at the collection.

HOSPICE COFFEE MORNING
The annual Hospice coffee morning, which took place on Sunday, raised €229.70, which will be handed over to the Roscommon Hospice fund. The hospice committee would like to thank everybody for attending and for making it an enjoyable morning. 
CLOONARKIN ENVIRONMENTAL WALK
The Sunday Cloonarkin walk takes place every Sunday at 6pm assembling at the head of the Cloonarkin road. Please come along and enjoy this scenic walk and help to protect our environment.
AEROBICS
Aerobics & Toning by Noreen will take place in Egans Lounge on Thursday nights commencing Oct 3rd from 8 to 9.30pm.  All fitness levels catered for.
MICHAEL GLAVEY’S GAA
Michael Glavey’s race night will be held in Campbells Lounge, Ballinlough on Friday night October 4th at 10pm.  Horses can be bought from any club member.
GOOD LUCK LADIES
We wish the Galway and Mayo ladies football teams the best of luck in Sunday’s All-Ireland Junior and Senior Finals.
