How Clostoken Got It's Name

Clostoken got it's name from a rock called Cloc-Stuaicin, which is the Irish for Clostoken. It was in the land owned by John Keane. The rock is not to be seen any more as it was taken away during reclaimation work.

The rock resembled a sheep with it's head bent. Cloc-Stuaicin means a stone with a bend on it.

There are only two houses in the townland of Clostoken owened by the Sherry Family. Cloc-Stuaicin is in the townland of Knockadamore in the electoral division of Kilconickny.
