Priests And Curates In The Parish

There were many priest and curates in the parish in the past. The priests were Fr.Furlong (who is buried inside the altar in clostoken church). Fr.Madden, Fr.O'Loughlin, Fr.O'Farrell, Fr.Egan, Fr.Cummins, Fr.Flynn and Fr.Naughten. Our present parish priest is Fr.Stanley.

The curates were Fr.Fahy, Fr.A.Cummins, Fr.Dunning, Fr.Reed, Fr.Campbell and Fr.Walsh.

Fr.O'Farrell is buried in the grounds of Clostoken Church. Fr.Egan is buried in Clostoken Cemetery and Fr.Cummins in buried in the grounds of Kilconieron Church.

Fr.Egan was the first to intoduce the keeping of an ewe by land-owners in the parish to raise funds to build Kilconieron Church.
