Camogie Snippets of the recent past

In 1992 Camogie started up again after a number of years of inactivity.

'Recent History' up to 1996.

Recent History after 1996.

In 1999 the team won the Leinster 7 A-Side Tournament in Clane.

Note picture of Theresa Kehoe, who was selected several times on County Wexford teams. She is an awful loss to Cloughbawn Camogie Club. She was tragically killed in a road accident on 16th August 2001. R.I.P.

The Community Games team of 2000

This team won the County Final and went on to represent Wexford in Leinster.

Under 12 Championship 2000

The Under 12's only defeat in the six matches played in the Roinn 2 North Wexford section was inflicted by Bunclody. However, they turned the tables on the this opposition when they beat Bunclody in the county final in St. Patrick's Park on a wet, windy and very muddy evening. Final score 3-1 to 2-0. Victory for Cloughbawn thanks mainly to two goals by Leanne Murphy.

Major Achievement for 2001

In August 2001 the dream was at last realised when the Junior Team won the 'A' League Final, beating Faythe Harriers 1-8 to 1-3.

Most of the girls had played together since winning the U12 Championship in 1995. So winning their first adult championship was a real boost to the club.
