Sports
St. Joseph
of Cluny Secondary School has many achievements in a variety of
sports, consistently competing in the Leinster Hockey League, which
it won in 1989. The school holds strong records in all the school
Basketball League and Cup challenges, both in Leinster and nationally.
The current
School Basketball Coach is a former U.S. Collegiate Player. Badminton
has also featured strongly in Clunys sporting history. The
Badminton teams have won trophies in all the major school Leagues.
The girls
also have several medals for cross-country events, with athletics
and tennis forming part of Clunys spring term programme. Recently
Soccer, Table Tennis and Fencing have joined the list of sports
available to the girls. The Physical Education programme incorporates
the teaching of the full range of sports skills and a health and
fitness programme. Skilled coaching is provided in all of the following
