The Choir

Cois Cladaigh, is a Galway - based chamber choir, founded in 1982. Assembling singers from all walks of life, it comprises of 28 mixed voices conducted by Brendan O'Connor. The choir specialises in European music from the late 15th and early 16th centuries and also performs a formidable repertoire of contemporary choral music, particularly from Ireland.

The name - 'Cois Cladaigh' - is in Gaelic, and also describes the choir's geographical centre of operations by (cois) the Cladagh in Galway city, where it practices weekly at the Aula Maxima in the grounds of the University.
