  • Art:

Classes in art and design are held in the school Art Room after school hours and run for an hour and a half.

There are two separate classes, one for infants and on a separate evening a class is held for the older children.

The teacher is local artist Sarah Seymour.

    Speech and Drama:
Classes are available after school hours for children who have an interest in Speech and Drama.

The classes are run by Helen Donohue from Athenry who runs the successful Stagecraft School.

    Basketball:
We have a basketball court to the rear of the school which for the use of all pupils.  Occasionally we invite local schools to play us in a friendly match.  From time to time, we run a tournament within the school for mixed teams.
    Dancing:
Every Friday Celine and Christina visit the school to give Irish and modern dance lessons in our new hall.  Children are taught with their class group. Each group is then divided further based on levels of skill in order not to put too much pressure on any student. At the end of most years, Celine and Christina organize a concert that is performed by the pupils of the school and parents are invited in to watch.
    Guitar:
Guitar lessons are taught by experienced musician Harry Monson on Tuesday evenings. Classes run for 40 minutes and will resume in the autumn.

Coldwood National School promotes sport for all of the pupils of the school with many activities include Hurling, Camogie, Basketball, Swimming, Irish Dancing, Guitar, Art classes, Computer Information Technology, Stagecraft School of Speech & Drama and Field Trips. The school has a proud tradition in athletics.
