Cian was the overall winner in the Telecom Eireann design a Callcard competition 1999. His design is featured on over 200,000 10 unit callcards, the school also benefitted by recieveing a computer.
Cian was one of the 10 winners in the Europe at Schools Art / Essay Competition.
Cian also won the Galway Advertiser Christmas Art Competition and his picture was on the cover of the Christmas Issue of the Advertiser.
In the Tesco design a Clubcard Competition Cian won 2nd Prize.

Alan Hanley is a repeat Leaving Cert Student and over the past six years in Colaiste Éinde has won quite a varying degree of awards.
It all began back in First Year when he and Conal Corduff (Past Student), won 3rd Prize in the 1994 Aer Lingus Young Scientist Exhibition, now the Esat Young Scientist Competition.
In April Alan came 3rd in the Young Scientist Writer's Competition, recieving his award at the RDS, Dublin.
Then in September 1996 Alan won in the MacDonald's Young Writer's Competition and his essay was published in The Top Dog.
Then in May 1998 he again won a prize in the Young Scientist Writer's Competition, this time he came 2nd and again travelled to the RDS to recieve his award.
Also in May 1998 Alan won the Europe at Schools Competition and represented Ireland in an all expenses paid Cultural gathering in the Netherlands.
In June 1998 he was awarded a prize in the An Post Education Awards.
At the end of the Academic Year 1998 Alan was awarded the Student of the Year Award along with Louise Merrigan.
In May 1999 he was runner - up in the National Commitee for Chemistry Essay Competition.

Colaiste Éinde girls certainly weren't lacking in eloquence this past year, taking part in competitions organised by the Womens Graduates of NUIG, the society of Soroptimists and the Business and Professional Cluns of ireland.
The Senior Girls Team pictured above with teacher Seamus Kelly, had the honour of winning the BPW Public Speaking Award for the Republic of Ireland which took place at Trinity College, Dublin.
As part of their prize they got an all expenses paid trip to Stormant Buildings, Belfast to compete with the best in Northern Ireland.


John Kelly has won the 1999 Essay Competition Award. As part of his prize he has won an all expenses paid trip to Japan for five weeks; he will be staying with a host Family there.

Sarah was the winner in the republic of Ireland Poetry Competition.
Her prize was an all expenses paid trip to the U.S.A. to read her poetry at the World Scholar Olympics.
