FAN'S EMAILS

I have been receiving many emails from fans that are really worth displaying on the site. They are usually too big to display on the guestbook and deserve a page of their own because they are making a statement about the Beatles that I shouldn't plageurise and pretend they are mine!!

Now I feel very strongly about this-- and this probably isn't the first email you've gotten like this!! I'm a fifteen year old... a "teenager" And no where near the "41-49 age range" that would only be excited about a documentary with 2 new songs from a band whose last songs were written in 1969!!! I get excited too! (actually I wasn't introduced into the Beatles then... but I would have been excited!) And you can bet I'd never say Elvis in the same sentence with the Beatles. The closest the two get is this-- "The Beatles actually had talent. Unlike Elvis." -- a nice, long pause in between the two statements. I very much dislike Elvis. The only reason I don't hate him is that he helped influence the Beatles, and he can't be all bad.

And the bubblegum comment... yes, so they did have bubblegum songs.... but that's what led to "Ob-la di, Ob-la da" (sarcasm.... but really, if they hadn't made it big with 'Love Me Do' and 'Please Please Me' we wouldn't have had 'I want you (she's so heavy)' or 'Oh! Darling' or 'Yesterday' or 'You've got to hide your love away' or 'A Day in the Life' or 'Fixing a Hole' or 'Helter Skelter' or even 'Don't Pass me By') ... and I understand that! And I'm only teenager... someone you've unfairly typed as a Beatle Hater and a *shudder* Hootie and the Blowfish lover (ironic you mentioned them, I'd say they're my least favorite band ever... next to the Dixie Chicks and all those *real* bubblegum bands and female "singers")

And "And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make." is one of my favorite quotes along with the one below I use as a signature, and "Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans" (yes, I do know that's a John Lennon solo lyric, but it's great!). The Beatlemaniacs aren't only forty-somethings.... they're everywhere! Younger than me, my age, older... the Beatles are timeless, classics, and... and they improved music so much! They're not going to fade when you're dead... nor when I'm dead or my not-yet-existing children or their children... So don't whine that you're the only fan-- you should know you're not. And maybe it was a joke, but I take offense to it. I would like to request that somewhere on that page you put that you know not all teenager are so opposed to the Beatles, and that some are in fact avid fans.... if you didn't know before, you know now!

Great site by the way! Keep it up.

Sincerly,
Ashley.

"So now here we are, all these people, assembled to thank you for everything you mean to all of us. This letter comes with love from your friend Paul. . . John Lennon, you made it. Tonight you're in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame."
