Information

'Day Tripper' was a typical play on words by John. He wanted to show the influence of the growing drug culture within a Beatles song. He was referring to 'weekend hippies' that couldn't afford to be regularly tripped out, like him. John said: "Day trippers are people that go on a day trip, right? But (the song) was kind of...you're a weekend hippie. Get it?" The song itself is about a girl who leads the singer on.
