The History of the Jaguar

It was meant to be the greatest thing since slice bread. It was meant to be the console from which all other consoles were judged. It was meant to be ATARI's finest moment. Instead it turned out to be a load of rubbish with no software support and complete lack of interest from the buying public.

0 Marketing=0 Sales!

The main problem was that this console came out way too early. Atari saw the future of gaming in flat 2-D worlds where as Sony and Sega realised that 3-D polygons were the future. This is not really Atari's fault as this is what most of the industry big players thought at the time. Few could have predicted that in just a few years the gaming industry would be swamped by real time 3-D games.

Atari's Last Machine

Unfortunatley once the new 32-bit consoles were released the Jaguar began to fade almost by the week and declined in spectacular fashion from the public. Another failure for ATARI then...
