Abduction

For many people, the most sinister aspect of alien contact is that they may

be here to expiriment on humans. Are these abductions real, or are they

just a symptom of a deluded mind ?

One of the most documented abductions is that of Betty and Barney Hill.

This abduction happened on 20 September 1961. Betty and Barney were driving

through new ha,pshire when they spotted what appeared to be a UFO following

them. Eventually, they pulled over and Barney left the car to investigate

this strange craft. According to Barney it was " an enormous ring shaped

craft with projected fins and whirring red lights."

Barney returned to the car and they sped away terrified. Moments later, the

car began vibrating, they heard an strange beeping sound, and a haze

seemed to fall over them.

Later when the Hills arrived home, they discovered that both of their

watches were two hours slow, and neither of them could account for what

had happened in the two hours. So where had they been ?

Barney and Betty Hill suffered form nightmares for two years before

regression hypnosis revealed details of their abduction. After the

hypnosis, they remembered the aliens and their craft, and the star system

they came from. Under the hypnosis, they described being taken by

bald-headed alien beings, greyish skin and cat-like eyes. They were

abducted by the typical grey alien.

Betty remembers medical examinations she was subjected to. She also

remembers being shown a map of the star system Zeta Reticuli, where the

aliens are believed to come from.

Sceptics believe that abductees may be suffering from False Memory

Syndrome (FMS). FMS is a disorder where a memory has been created by the

subconcious to replace some childhood trauma, such as abuse. Sceptics

argue that many (but NOT all) abductees are subconciously using alien

abduction experiences to mask a childhood trauma.

Some psychologists believe that if you stimulate the temperal lobes, you

can artificially induce "abductions". But over-stimulation of the temperal

lobes does not explain physical scars or implants in the abductees' bodies.

So, the investigation continues, and the ublic are left to make up their own minds. What do you think ?
