WHAT IS YOUR EXCUSE?

Are you a Christian? A real Christian? A born-again child of God? A new creature in Christ? Or are you presenting excuses? So many do. Let's answer some of them with Scripture.

I MUST GET BETTER FIRST

Seek ye first the kingdom of God. (Matt 6:33)

You cannot improve yourself. Come to Christ as you are.

GOD IS TOO GOOD TO DAMN ANYONE
Except ye repent, ye shall ... perish. (Luke 13:3)

God is loving but righteous too. His judgments are for the unbelieving and the ungodly. Man damns himself when he refuses to believe in Christ and His offer of salvation.

IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE WHAT I BELIEVE AS LONG AS I AM SINCERE

There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. (Prov. 16:25)
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth and the life; no man cometh unto the Father but by me. (John 14:6)

MY FRIENDS WOULD PERSECUTE ME
The fear of man bringeth a snare. (Prov. 29:25)

What shall it profit a man, if he gain the whole world and lose his own soul ? (Mark 8:36) Friends can distract us in our search, deviate us from our purpose and dilute our desires for God. Don't let them!

I AM DOING THE BEST I CAN
All the world (is) guilty before God (Rom 3:19)
The wages of sin is death (Rom 6:23)
The soul that sinneth it shall die (Ezek 18:4)
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us (Tit 3:5)
Our best is not good enough. Our goodness is tainted by sin. God must forgive and remove this sin if we are to have fellowship with Him.

I AM TOO GREAT A SINNER

I am he that blotteth out thy transgressions (Is 43:25) Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow (Is 1:18) For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost (Luke 19:10) No sin is too great, no evil is too ghastly, no iniquity is too vile for Him to forgive!

I ALWAYS WAS A CHRISTIAN

In sin did my mother conceive me (Ps 51l :5)
All we like sheep have gone astray (Is 53:6)
Ye must be born again (John 3:3)

We may be in a 'Christian' country, have Christian values and accept a Christian way of life, but if we have not repented of our sin and received forgiveness, and trusted Christ for salvation and life, we are yet without God and without hope in the world.

Any excuse which keeps us from faith in Christ is, in reality, a lie of the devil. Don't be duped by him! The Bible has the answer. God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son ... (John 3:16) As may as received him to them gave he power to become the sons of God . . . (John 1:1 2) He that hath the Son Hath life (I John 5:12)
