Evolutionary thinking has led to many evils in society. Among those evils are racism, the holocaust and abortion
I Racism
First of all the rejection of God has led to Racism. Evolution
is based on survival of the fittest and this has led many people
to say that primitive tribes people are not fit to survive. When
people first came in contact with the Aborigines in Australia
they thought they had found the missing link. They thought that
Aborigines were between man and the apes and tried to prove that.
Of course Aborigines were no more the missing link than any of
the other missing links. In 1861 a few years after Darwin had
published his Origin of the Species advocating evolution there
was a Royal Commision of inquiry aboout the use of force against
the Aborigines and a police man gave evidence and he defended
rough treatment of Aborigines He said " It is a question
as to which is the strongest race- if we sbmit to them they would
despise us for it" Also a writer justified the killing of
Aborigines in the state of Victoria. He said. "to the sentimental
it is undoubted ly an iniquity, to the practical it represents
a distinct step in human progressm involving the sacrifice of
a few thousands of an inferior race"
So killing was justified on the pretext of survival of the fittest
There was also a stroy a few years ago about how in United States
thousands of people with mental illness had operations performed
on them against their will to stop them having children. These
operations wer particularly performed in Lynchburg in Virgina
II Holocaust
The holocaust in which millions of Jews and gypsies and others
were slaughtered was justified on the grounds of evolutionary
thinking. The whole thing was based on the notion of eugenics
which was something that was started by Sir Franceis Galton a
cousin of Charles Darwin. Eugenics was based on the notion that
any one who was unfit should be weeded out for the greater good
of the herd. (If evolution is true then you need to get rid of
the weak) The Bible tells us that all men are created in the image
of God. It tells us that man is more than just an animal. The
Nazis killed whole wards of mental patients. When they did that
many evolutionist praised them. One American evolutionist stated.
"The Germans are beating us at our own game." Later
the Nazis said that the Jews were an inferior race and therefore
they should be exterminated but it was the evolutionary concept
of Eugenis that was behind the holocaust.
III Abortion
Again the killing of unborn babies is growing because people are
rejecting God. The Bible tells us of the value of human life.
It tells us Thou shalt not kill Yet many are killing little
babies because they no longer believe what the Bible shows us
and that is the fact that life begins even in the womb.
In the United States there was an abortion clinic where they performed
these operations to kill unborn babies. But when they were performing
one operation the little baby was born alive. It was breathing
itself even though it was barely doing so. They had not killed
it before it could be born. So they were in a turmoil as to what
to do. The lady had come in to have the baby killed but it was
alive. So what they did is they beat it over the head until it
was dead. They made sure it was dead.
But then the police got involved because the baby had been born
and even in the eyes of a law that allowed abortion this was murder
and the doctors were taken to court. But they got off and do you
know how they got off. They said how is life defined and the answer
medically speaking is that life is defined as electrical activity
in the brian. But nobody had measured to see if there was electrical
cactivity in the babies head and so legally it could not be proved
it had been alive and so the doctors got off. That is what i mean
by saying that when people stop believing in God there is no law
and if there had been now God at all there would be no moral standards
to measure ourselves against.
