Clare is situated in the Mid-west
of Ireland and Kilrush is on the mouth of the Shannon
river in West Clare
Getting Here:
- SShannon International Airportt
is km (40miles) from Kilrush. It is serviced
by airlines with routes within Ireland, to Britain,
Europe and the United States. Car Hire with all
major international operators located at airport
- 4 km (miles) from the Killimer-Tarbert
car ferry that
links County Clare and the Kerry. In Summer ferry
leaves every half hour. In winter leaves the Clare
side on the hour, leaves the Kerry side every hour
on the half hour.

(7 miles), Lahinch (20miles), Quilty (15miles)
as well as many local smaller bathing areas
- Kilrush Marina which is the
base for Dolphin Watching on the Shannon and trips

- West Clare is one of the main
centres for Irish Traditional Music in the country
and music sessions are available nightly in the
pubs in the area. Eigse Mrs Crotty is held in August
each year in Kilrush and Willie Clancy Summer School
at Milltown Malbay (16 miles) every July
