Beaufort Fundraiser Dec 05

COUNTY MEATH COLLEGE RAISES ALMOST €4500 THE RELIEF OF VICTIMS OF THE PAKISTAN EARTHQUAKE

Beaufort College in Navan, County Meath has raised almost €4,500 for the relief of victims of the recent earthquake in Pakistan. Students at the college organised a Draw and generous sponsorship was provided from many local businesses.

The proceeds of the Draw are going to the local organisation, “The Irish Friends of Pakistan” and two members of this group are scheduled to travel out to the region on December 28 th to oversee the distribution of aid raised here in Ireland. The group organiser is local Fine Gael TD Damien English.

Beaufort College has a number of Pakistani students. The Draw was organised by Mr. Patrick Marley, Guidance Counsellor at the College and the Fifth Year students including Syed Jawad Haider who comes from Lahore, Pakistan.

The Irish Friends of Pakistan are delighted with this recent fundraising effort by Beaufort College. Beaufort is one of many schools and organisations around Meath that have raised money for the earthquake hit region.
