St Mary's Convent Primary School is situated in Nenagh, Co. Tipperary.  As the administrative capital of North Tipperary, Nenagh has  a population of around 6,000 people. It is a most accessible town as it is served by the N7 travelling south from Dublin and north from Limerick, 100 miles and 25 miles away respectively. The Irish name for Nenagh is 'Aonach' which means a 'fair' or a 'market'. The six fairs in the year for selling horses, cattle or sheep were held in April, May, July, September, October and November.
