1820s :Three schools are recorded in Craughwell
in the Report of the Commissioners of
Irish Education Inquiry 1826 - 27
|

|
|
1850 : The first National School was built by
Fr. M. O'Fay and Patrick Gilligan was
put in charge.
|
|
|
|
|
1938 : The old school was completely renovated
and refurbished.
|
|
|
|
|
1956 : Boys' and Girls' schools were amalgamated.
|
|
|
|
1963 : Modernisation to include running water,
flush toilets new cloakrooms and entrance hall.
|
|
|
|
1987 : The present 'new school' was completed
in new location at Crinnage.
|
|
|
|

Today the school has 133 pupils and 5 teachers with a shared Remedial
Teacher. There are 82 families attending the school.
