Competition: Connacht Junior Cup
This was a great result for creggs on their outing against Corrib in Monivea under lights. The game was very tight from the outset. Some very promising attacks by creggs just failed to produce the vital scores early on. Under pressure, a great break by Ciaran Coyne up field was keenly followed up on by Mark Brandon, who with ball in hand managed to weave through a series of Corrib players, to score a fantastic try under the posts.
The second half was illuminated by great creggs running, in particular Daniel Keane and Daragh Connelly stood out as excellent runners, both picking up a try each before Colin Looby rounded out his try count for the season with a fine try in the corner, from a well placed Mark Brandon kick.
Alan ward was unlucky to pick up a nasty head injury which forced him to leave the game early.
Creggs now have the uphill struggle of attempting to defeat a very strong Galwegians team to remain in the top flight of the restructured Connacht League.
