00..... Boys Hurling Team 2000
The School Coaches Every week the children benefit from the experience of Coach Gerry Fox. Gerry is an accredited coach with the GAA and he passes on the skills of Hurling and Football to all the classes. The Coaching Motto is "Children First- Winning Second". After school hours several members of our staff give up their free time to coach the school Football (Girls and Boys), Hurling and Camogie teams. Due to their dedicated work the school teams have taken part in all the Town and County leagues, and while being very successful they have alos enjoyed the experience greatly. Robert is our Basketball coach and he comes to the school one day a week to teach the finer points of basketball to classes from 4th to 6th. The school has a weekly session in the Ennis Swimming Pool on Wednesday afternoons. Children from 1st up to 5th Class get the opportunity to learn how to swim, taught by qualified lifeguards. All the children enjoy these sessions. During the month of June the annual School Sports Day is held. This is a fun day for all the children with the emphasis on paricipation rather than winning. |
