St Patrick's Day Parade, Delvin, Co. Westmeath

On the 16th of March the town of Delvin were having their parade. Our school was walking in it. At 2.15 we all arrived at the field where the parade started. Our theme was "a green school". My class dressed up as litter. On the Friday before the parade we all made posters about recycling. We were dressed up as sweet wrappers, plastic bottles and cigarettes.

The infant children dressed up as reusable items.

The next age group was compost items and the 3rd and 4th class children were the recycling items. Behind us stood three adult's holding up a sign saying 'Green School'.

When we walked down the street we saw people giving out shamrocks and daffodils. People cheered and clapped as we walked down the street. When we reached the other side of the town we stopped and we got crisps and a drinks for joining in the parade.

We all had a great time!
