About the Cork School Project National School

The Cork School Project is one of a growing number of schools established by parental action in response to their changing needs in an increasingly pluralist society.
When the C.S.P. opened in 1987 the enrolment was 75 pupils, taught by three teachers. In just ten years the enrolment has increased to 270 pupils and 11 teachers.
The school has an administrative Principal and nine classroom teachers and in addition one special activities teacher.


Multi-denominational

All chrildren must have equal right of access to the school and the religious , cultural and social background of each child must be respected.

Co-educational

Each child must be allowed to develop his or her potential without distinction by sex.

Democratic

The school must create structures which allow fot the expression of the needs and aspirations of its parents, teachers and chrildren.

Child-centred

Learning through personal discovery and experience is emphasised over the pasing of second-hand information.

Fair Enrolment policy

All admissions are by means of a pre-enrolment list, elimating the possibility of any form of discrimination.
