The Cottage
The cottage is located in the heart of the Irish
countryside beside the owner's working farm, which
residents may visit.
Fishing
The area is blessed with having some of the best coarse
fishing in Europe. In 1999 the local Lough Muckno lake
hosted the European Coarse fishing competition. Cúl an
Cnoic has its own lake just outside the front door.
Golf
The area boasts a number of golf courses in the immediate
vicinity. Within a 20 mile radius there are no fewer than
10 golf courses (3 to championship standard) Green fees
may be arranged locally. Castleblayney Golf Club is open
to visitors throughout the year.
Equestrian sports
For those interested in equestrian sports Castleblayney
has an impressive equestrian centre which is open to
visitors while pony trekking is available during the
summer at Lough Muckno Park.
