Déise Archery Club is a traditional
field archery club based in County Waterford, Ireland. Déise (pronounced 'Day-sha')
Archery Club takes its name from the Decies, a tribe who settled in the
Waterford area in ancient times. Locally, the Waterford area is often referred
to as 'the Decies'.
We have a
20 target 3D course set
in woodland about seven miles outside the town of Dungarvan.
That the club has grown and thrived,
with members of all ages, is testimony to the fact that traditional field
archery is one of the most exciting and fast-growing family sports in Ireland.
We meet most Sunday mornings for a shoot, we run coaching sessions for newcomers and
total beginners who would like to ‘have a go’. We currently have several
coaches trained to international standard. who instruct beginners in how to shoot safely.
Apart from safety, the main emphasis is on fun!
