-75% of the Irish native species are contained in the Burren, many of which are rare and endangered.

-35 our of 56 fish stocks fished in Irish waters are overexploited and in decline, including herring, blue whiting, cod, haddock, and whiting.

-60 habitats and 25 species in Ireland are recognised as of European importance and in need of special protection. Ireland must designate SACs to protect these habitats and species, in line with the EU Habitats Directive.

-A national biodiversity plan has been published but has mostly not been implemented. Lobby your local representatives to implement it without delay.
