Waterford Fair Trade City
Waterford is a fair trade city since
October 2005. This means a
certain percentage of cafes and
shops sell fair trade products. Its
usually tea and coffee, primary agricultural
products from less
developed countries, but there is
also chocolate, fruit and honey
available to buy.
Waste Education
The Waterford One World Centre
has produced a set of 'World Wide
Waste' worksheets for primary
schools. The worksheets encourage
children to learn about reduce, re-use
and recycle waste using
examples from developing countries.

Get Composting
Compost/brown bin collection
means that the waste from your
brown bin turns into great usable
and productive compost in only 12
weeks. The Compost Facility is on
the Green Road, Waterford. Bags of
compost are available to householders
at a cost of only €1.50 per bag.
