Aonghus Óg

The son of the Dagda and the Goddess Boann, Aonghus Óg was the Celtic God of Love.

From his home at Newgrange in the Boyne Valley, he dreamed of a beautiful maiden. He searched all of Ireland in vain for the woman of his dreams, but returned to his palace a broken man.

No longer caring for life, Aonghus began to waste away.

His father and mother eventually located Cáer, who was the daughter of the king of Connaught, on The Lake of the Dragons Breath.

She was living in the shape of a swan with one hundred and fifty attendents.

Aonghus tramsformed himself into a swan and so was united with Cáer.
