Summer by Aoife OS I placed my hands over my eyes, And straightaway I saw the skies. The birds flapping around, Making such a beautiful sound. Through the blue skies they go, Putting on such a beautiful show. A real sign of summer That's nearly here. Men, women and children cheer, As the summer holidays draw near. Foreign countries, hot weather. Sunbathing on the beach, wishing to be tanned. While the youngsters play in the sand. This is what I saw, As I placed my hands over my eyes. Oh yes, I saw this wonderful surprise. |

Poems by Romina Horrible is my home some people like to think Obscene are the walls, the windows and the sink Mastiff is the dog that scares the birds away Except home is where you make it that's what I like to say Tall, dark and very hairy Roam around the forest at night Only come out with faces so scary Leave the house and you'll get a fright Laying under a bridge you'll see them very rarely. Fairies, pixies, trolls and imps All the people try to get a glimpse In their little huts they dance Round and round and round they prance Yes, fairies, pixies, trolls and imps all the people try to get a glimpse. Unique are these horse-like creatures Never under-estimate their features Internally nice Crazy people try to buy them but they come at a price Over all you see them rarely Rainbow colours across them fairly No, never under estimate their features. |
||
Poems by Stephen C Ghosts come out on Hallowe'en night. Only to give you a fright So stay inside Tonight Trolls are small but some are tall Round about midnight they will call Only to prank you around the clock so Lock your doors and Lock your windows. Doom lurks within his lair Ripping apart with claws that tear And scorching things with fire Going to fly so much higher On the mountains it will perch Never knowing when it will lurch. |

A Haunted House by Ronan |
||
One Hallowe'en night I went to the house on the hill because the neighbours are always complaining about wailing noise every Hallowe'en. I heard the shouting children from the attic, then I opened the door and a deep, dark voice said "Why are you here?" I got such a fright I went and jumped into a bush. When I got my courage back I went and peeped through the window. It was pitch dark and all I could see was a dark figure looking at the door. Then he twisted his head around like an owl in my direction. I ducked immediately and I sensed him behind me and I ran through the back door into the kitchen. My heart was beating madly. I ran up to the attic and hoped that the children were still alive. But they were ghosts. I asked them "What happened to you?" "We were murrrrrdddderrrred" they said and I asked "By who?" "Him!" I ran into the closet and I found this blank copy. He's coming, if you find this copy please tell my parents how I died. | ||
The Haunted
House by Stephen O'D |
|
It was big and scary.
I approach it with caution. It didn't look normal at all. There were freaky
noises I couldn't explain. I went up to the door, stood in front of it and was
very quiet. I was ready to break into the house. I tried to open the door but it was locked so I moved back, ran as fast as I could and ran right through the door. It was big inside. There were torches on the walls, it was very scary. I saw a staircase; I decided to start to walk to the staircase. When I got to it I started to walk up the staircase very slowly. When I was walking up the staircase I could still hear noises I couldn't explain. I eventually got to the top. When I got to the top there was a door. It was big and wooden with a big handle. I was thinking if the proof of those noises was inside. I put my ear to the door and the noises just stopped. 'What should I do?', I was thinking. I was ready to open the door. I pulled the handle, opened the door and stepped inside. When I got inside I saw a big monster of a ghost. It was about to get me. I ran as fast as I could, ran out the door, down the staircase, out the other door, outside and I was safe and sound. |

My Haunted
House by Clodagh |

"I will leave 2,000 euro to the cats and dogs shelter, 1,000 euro to the local parish, 500 euro to my friend Margret and the rest to my only living relative, Orla O'Brien." The solicitor put down the will he was reading and handed me the keys to my great-aunt's house. I couldn't believe my luck. I said a prayer in my head thanking my great-aunt Jessie. Then I headed to my new house in Donegal. I pulled up outside the house and looked at it. It was dreadful!!! I thought my great-aunt Jessie had only died a week ago, yet her house was so untidy. It was on the very edge of a cliff and down below the sea was bashing against the rocks. The house was huge, but the windows were broken, the walls were entwined with ivy and the slates had fallen off the roof and were now on the ground. I walked to the door, and turned the handle. As I pushed the door, it creaked open. Inside it was even worse. The floorboards had holes in them, the plaster on the walls had worn away and the pipes were leaking, so there was water everywhere. (Let's just say that half the room was not even a room). "What a dump", I said to myself, letting my luggage fall out of my hands. They made a big bang when they hit the floor. I could hear noises coming from upstairs. I went to the staircase. I began to walk up, very carefully in case there were holes in the steps. It was very dark too. When I reached the top of the staircase I saw three doors. I decided to go to the middle one first. I opened it and a swarm of bats flew out of the room. I screamed and then shut the door immediately. I ran to the door on the right and closed the door behind me. It was pitch black. I saw two big red lights, like eyes. They were staring at me and then they started to move closer to me so I turned for the door. One big problem, it wasn't there. I ran to the window, but just before I reached it, I fell down. I hit a floor with a bang. I stood up in pain and in front of me were cats, bats, eyes, and men in black suits staring at me. |

"Come with us", said
one of the men. But judging by his voice, I don't think he was a man. They
reached forward, but I backed away. I kept backing away until I hit a wall. I
thought I was doomed, but then, in the corner of my eye I saw a door. I ran
towards it as quick as I could, in case it disappeared like the last one. I
barged through the door. I found myself back at the three doors, but I didn't
stop to hesitate and wonder how I ended up back here. I just kept running and
screaming. Down the stairs, past my luggage, and straight through the door out
to my car. I reversed very quickly and drove as far away as possible.
One things for sure, I'm sleeping somewhere else tonight. |

Trolls are stupid
Trolls are large Trolls are hunched Trolls don't drive cars Trolls live to a ripe old age Trolls make their homes deep in caves Troll's best friend is his trusty club When he has a few pints he calls his bud Never look him in the eye Or he'll beat you and beat you till you die. |

Poems by Stephen O'D Ghosts are weird Ghosts are invisible Ghosts are mysterious Ghosts are scary Ghosts are unusual Ghosts are everywhere. Great and scary How can they go through a wall? Oh I can be weary So I would just play football They are ghosts and they will eat fairy. Dark and mysterious Racing in the sky At times dangerous Great when they fly One would be victorious Now dragons they can be sly. |
