Niall O' Loughlin was born in Dublin in 1970.


He graduated from Senior College Ballfermot ' animation studies ' in 1989. His first job was on ' teenage mutant ninja turtles '.


In 1992 Niall started working for Guinness as a promotional caricaturist, which involved travelling around the pubs of Ireland drawing drinkers of Guinness, at 22 this seemed like the best job in the world as everything was paid for, drink, accommodation etc.


1994 found him travelling around the world, working in various animation studios from Vancover to Bucharest. He returned in 1997 to work in Sullivan Bluth studio's on 'All Dogs go to Heaven' .He then worked in Terraglyph studios for 3 years, an Irish based company which have produced 3 feature films so far, including the hugley successful ' Help, I am a fish. '


In 2001 he took the huge risk of going out on his own as a freelance artist, made bigger by the fact that he was now married with a baby.In his first year he was accepted as a full member of Illustrators Ireland and has had his work published in many Irish Magazines & Newspapers including the Evening Herald, In Dublin, Hotpress, Magill, etc,


Niall has received commissions for his caricatures from all over the world and recently had the pleasure of drawing legendary G.A.A. commentator Míchael O' Muircheartaigh and Irish Goalkeeper Alan Kelly. However he still animates whenever he gets the chance and was lucky enough to be given the position of Chief Animator on the Oscar nominated series: Give up yer aul sins: He was interviewed in the making of the documentary, which was shown at Christmas on R.T.E.


Niall recently started work on a series of paintings (acrylic on canvas) of well known celebrities, including- Bono, The Edge, Ozzy Osbourne. These paintings are very time consuming and have attracted an incredible amount of interest from the entertainment industry.


Niall,s most recent claim to fame is a commission of 6 caricature paintings which he presented to Louis Walsh and the Lad's from Westlife at the Childline Concert on Sunday January 25th last.
