PStation

Carrigaline station, which serviced the old Cork to Crosshaven railway, pictured in 1988.
In the 19th century no less than six railway companies were operating in the Cork Harbour area. The first six and a half miles of standard gauge line from the Cork terminus at City Park on Victoria Road to Passage was opened in 1850. In 1862 the line was extended as far as Crosshaven.
