An 1868 Gazetteer description of the following places in


KILMOYLY

"KILMOYLY, (or Kilmoily), a parish in the barony of Clanmaurice, county Kerry, province of Munster, Ireland, 3 miles N. of Ardfert. Ballyhigue is its post town. It includes the village of Lerrigs. The surface lies along the coast of Ballyhigue Bay. The living is an appropriate vicarage in the diocese of Ardfert and Aghadoe, in the patronage of the bishop. There are a Roman Catholic chapel and three day schools. Toherban was a German palatine settlement. Ballykealy Castle was the residence of the Fitz-Maurice family.
