Beauty regime

  •  Start a good skincare routine 6-12 months before the wedding. Book regular facials and schedule your last facial 2-4 weeks before the wedding.
  • Avoid chapped lips by applying a lip moisturizer in the weeks leading up to the wedding.
  • Don’t leave first time treatments until the last minute. Make sure to have patch tests and prior treatments at least 1-2 months before the date, the last thing you need is an allergic reaction the week of the wedding.
  • For any facial hair removal the week of the wedding plucking or threading is more advisable as there is less chance of a reaction.
  • Good skin starts from the inside out so drink plenty off water to help eliminate toxins, eat healthily and get regular exercise leading up to the wedding.
  • Make regular mani and pedi appointments to get your natural nails into good shape especially to show off your ring in the photos.
  •

Tanning

  • Prepare your skin for tanning by exfoliating twice weekly and moisturizing daily. This evens out the skin texture and allows the tan to fade naturally instead of patchy.
  • In the months leading to the wedding sample different brands of tan and different application methods, sprays, creams, gels etc. This way you’ll find the best tan for you depending on your skin tone.
  • When you have found the tan that suits you, schedule a tanning session to coincide with your makeup trial so you will get a true picture of how you will look on your wedding day.
  • Don’t feel pressured into having fake tan done if you don’t normally wear it. You can still look beautiful if you’re pale!

Makeup Trial

  • Tear out any pictures from magazines of makeup looks you likes or dislike or of anything that inspires you. It could be a certain lip colour, how a certain feature is played up or even how they used too much eyeliner. All this is easier to show through pictures rather than trying to describe it. This helps us establish your likes and dislikes.
  • Jot down any ideas or questions you may have so we can discuss them at the consultation.
  • Allow at least 1 hour for your pre wedding trial so that when you leave you are 100%  happy and confident with your makeup so you can totally relax the morning of your wedding.
  • Remember your trial is time to have fun and to try out different ideas, colours etc. Don’t be afraid to say you don’t like something, makeup is easy to take off and re-apply.

Wedding day

  • On the morning of the wedding have a room designated especially for hair and makeup.
  • The room should have good natural light and a cleared area for products (counter top, table etc).
  •  Some power points or extension leads should be available for hairdryers or if you are having the airbrush makeup. This allows everything to run smoothly and on time so you can sit back and relax.
  • Have one of the bridesmaids carry a touchup kit with pressed powder, lipstick or gloss, hairpins, tissues and some mints .
  • Also have a mini emergency kit on hand containing a mini sewing kit, plasters, safety pins and some disprin.

Most importantly, enjoy your day!
