I'd better confess at the beginning, that initially, my show wasn't about anything in particular. I'll explain. In order to secure a venue, print posters & get yourself registered with the Fringe festival, all of this had to be done 8 months in advance. At that early stage I hadn't a notion of what i was gonna be doing , muchless even entertain an idea of incorporating a hearse into the proceedings!
Without having a show written and rapidly needing a title for it, my solution was to come up with a name for a show that could mean anything. Hence the birth of the showname "Donal Norton is Keyless". It really did mean nothing. I thought that a good starting point for the show might be how my comedic career was surepticiously given birth to the exact same moment my musical career nosedived. The occasion was when i got the boot from touring Europe with David Hasselhoff for breaking the three sacred rules, (ask me about it sometime).
The madness of it all was how i was urged to keep that skeleton well buried as i dealt with the movers and grovers in the music business, and then as i became accepted as a comedian, in every tv/radio/newspaper interview, i've been equally urged to tell everybody! Ye just cant please everyone! Anyway seeing as i still get asked about those days here's some pictures from a video that i made on-stage with 'the Hoff'. The guitarist brazenly gets away with the very offence that gets me sent to the sideline.....Referee!
