It was dubbed the "title decider" by those in the know, but after a two all draw last week, neither CYMS or North West can feel that the title race is definitely over. The latter will feel that they can win all their remaining fixtures, something they proved very adept at doing in the first half of the season. This would secure their retention of the league title for another year as they have a game in hand on CYMS. Their young adversaries must now hope that other clubs can do them a favour and take points off Bernard McGuinness' experienced outfit. With a string of home fixtures to come, it looks good for North West.

The game itself contained lots of good snooker but the four two-nil scorelines don't illustrate how tight it was. CYMS had lost the first clash between the two earlier in the season and they were out for revenge on away soil. North West's Anthony Bonnar was drafted in for his first Donegal League match of the season and what a baptism...! Phelim McClafferty was determined to lead by example and he defeated the current County Champion to get CYMS off to a great start. Player of the Year leader Chris Gibbons made it two nil by defeating Gerry McKeever and suddenly the home side were in desperate trouble. But champions are made of stern stuff and Joe Devine hit back at CYMS by defeating young Anthony Duffy. Gerry McCloskey has been knocking in big breaks recently and his good form rescued North West. Trailing in his second frame by half a century, he dug deep to pip Paddy McGroarty at the death.

Convoy A kept up their charge for third place by defeating the improving North West B three one. Darren Ponsonby's men are now only three points behind Donegal Town and three ahead of Killea.

Killea haven't given up on a top four spot and they showed no mercy to a gallant Ramelton B side who have impressed everybody this season with their never-say-die attitude, despite their lowly position in the league. Robert Brown led by example yet again and he was ably supported by Shane Grant, Gerald Lennon and Brian Woodrow.

Donegal defeated Convoy B four nil in Donegal. Winners on the night were Michael Neary, Oliver Plunkett, Paul Thomas and Tom Plunkett. Best for Convoy was Andy Doherty who fought back well against Paul before finally succumbing.

Ramelton A got back to winning ways against Twin Towns A in the final fixture of the night. Wins for Philip Friel, Mark Friel and Chris Murray condemned Twin Towns to defeat but Jack McGranaghan's improving form earned him a win for the Ballybofey side.
