DONEGAL TOWN SNOOKER CLUB

The club offers its condolences to club member Daithi McGonigle and to his father on the death of Daithi's mum. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.

Donegal were handed a five nil victory in the Donegal League when opponents Northwest B failed to show. As a result, the team is three points behind leaders Northwest A. The two clubs face each other in the next league match and Donegal will have to put in a good performance.

Due to the expulsion of Gransha from the league, Donegal have qualified for the quarterfinals. Who they meet there will be dependant on their final two fixtures against CYMS B.

The draw for the Harry Diver Cup sponsored by Barry Mulreany has been made and entrants are requested to play their matches as soon as possible.

The Coulter Cup Competition is proceeding well with the junior beginners playing their matches on schedule. The quarterfinal stage has now been reached and an enjoyable time has been had by all.

Entries are invited for the Open Pairs Pool Championship sponsored by The Blue Stack, The Dew Drop Inn, The National and Jimmy's Tavern. The holders are the Plunkett brothers so if you want to dethrone them, give your names along with the £5 entry fee per pair to John McGlanaghey, Martin Mulhern or Patsy McNulty.

Finally, Martin Mulhern's recent meteoric rise to second in the club rankings has given hope to all those in the club who felt they were over the hill. Dom Breslin and Michael Hunt have been seen practising harder than ever while Seamus Faulkner has acquired a new cue. What was that saying about the tradesman and his tools?
