Things remain as they were at the top of the Lyric Snooker league following the latest round of fixtures. North West A enjoyed a comfortable 4-0 win against Twin Towns B with Joe Devine, Gerry McCloskey, Bernard McGuinness and Gerry McKeever on the scoresheet.

CYMS kept up the pressure with a hard-fought win over Convoy B. Gavin Toner made it interesting for the away side by defeating Anthony Duffy but Paddy McGroarty, Phelim McClafferty and Chris Gibbons were not in the mood to slip up at home and they each won well.

Donegal Town continued their recent policy of blooding their up and coming young players in their latest Donegal League match away to Ramelton B. The two youngsters Ciaran O'Reilly and Brian Heeney didn't disappoint with Brian achieving a great two nil win playing exciting snooker and Ciaran taking the experienced Peter Friel to three frames before succumbing. Indeed, had Ciaran won a respotted black in the second frame, he would have won the match. Tom Plunkett and Paul Thomas showed that the old guard still have something to offer by winning their matches and ensuring three points for Donegal.

Killea had a good 3-1win over Ramelton A at home. Robert Brown continued his winning ways for the home side and was ably supported by Brian Woodrow and Shane Grant. Kieran Murray replied for Ramelton.

In the final match, Convoy A defeated Twin Towns A 3-1. Jack McGranaghan got the Ballybofey side off to a good start by beating Darren Ponsonby 2-0. But Willie Breen, John Lynch and Justin Lynch all won 2-0 to ensure a victory for the Convoy men.

North West remain 2 points clear of CYMS at the top. Donegal will finish in third place as they can't be caught with only two matches remaining. Convoy A have 31 points but have played a game more than the chasing Killea. This battle for the final Top Four place will go to the wire with Killea slight favourites. Convoy B though could do their A side a big favour as they play Killea next.

The qualifying tournament for the Inter-Counties will take place in the Eglington in Galway on April 8. Already qualified for this team are Anthony Bonnar, Pat Bonnar, Johnny Connors, and Chris Gibbons. The fifth place is between Phelim McClafferty and Gerry McKeever with the former the favourite to pinch the spot. A sixth player will be selected by the County Executive. The team will be finalised following the next fixture on April 4.
