Terry Mullin and Paul Cannon defeated Damien Hanna and Mickey Gallagher to set up a repeat of last year's final against the Plunkett brothers. Tom and Oliver were narrow victors over Ernie and Gary Spencer in their semi-final. The final will be played on Oliver's return from his honeymoon. He has promised his brother that he will spend the fortnight practising his pool.

Donegal Town drew 2-2 with North West in the first leg of their Top Four semi-final. Winners on the night for Donegal were Oliver Plunkett who took the scalp of Anthony Bonnar and Charlie Murphy who gained revenge for his County Championship exit by defeating Joe Devine. Gerry McCloskey and Gerry McKeever ensured an interesting second leg by getting the better of Michael Neary and Terry Mullin.

Paul Fitzsimons was the only Donegal Town player to reach the last 16 of the county championships on Good Friday. Charlie Murphy lost 2-0 to Joe Devine while Mark Mulhern lost to Gerry McCloskey. Niall Gillespie lost his second round match on Easter Sunday.

Donegal drew 2-2 with CYMS in their final Lyric Donegal League match. The result meant that CYMS won the league. Donegal finish third, 6 points behind the winners. On the night Tom Plunkett and Charlie Murphy won for the home side, while Aidan Devanney and Chris Gibbons won for the visitors.

Vincent Granaghan defeated holder Paddy Kelly in the latest round of the Harry Diver Cup and will fancy his chances of taking the cup home this year. Jack Keeney, Joe Gillespie and Conor Caldwell are among those who will have a big say in the eventual outcome. Charlie McIntyre is the dark horse and having disposed of Sean McCafferty, he is gunning for the more fancied players.

Donegal have entered two teams in the Junior County Donegal Knock-out Cup to begin the weekend of April 27/8. This is an under 17 team event and the club committee intend to pick players who will best promote the image of the club.

The County League are running an Under 17 County Championship on May 7th. It will be hosted this year by North West Snooker Club. Entrants must have been 16 or under on the 31st of December, 2000 and must be resident in the county. The entry fee is £2 and should be in by May 1st.
